NAIS MEMBER SCHOOLS
NAIS members or provisional members have the benefit of one consultation with The Jane Group for up to one half hour per school, per year at no charge.
Prior to contacting The Jane Group, it is beneficial for the school to have as much information prepared in order to strategically assess the situation. With facts in hand, The Jane Group and the school will discuss the situation and determine next steps. Frequently situations will require full crisis management at a special NAIS hourly rate.
First Steps
1. Remain calm. While this may seem obvious, keeping a cool, clear head will set a calm tone as the situation unravels.
2. Gather the facts. One of the most difficult things to do is to gather the facts. It is critical to determine a strategy based on fact rather than rumor or hearsay. Ask the questions:
Who is involved?
What happened?
Where did the incident happen?
When did it happen?
Why did this occur?
How has this unfolded?
3. Call for help. Never try to manage a crisis alone. Call The Jane Group.
